Salam, pada kesempatan ini saya ingin membuat ulasan ringkas dan review Nook Color by Barnes & Nobles dan aplikasinya.

Nook Color packaging is simple but nice

Accessories box inside with charger and USB cable

Volume, ear phone jack and power button

Charging the Nook with USB charger. Warna bertukar hijau bila bateri penuh.

Speaker grill. But I wish it has higher volume.

On the right corner there is the slot for SD Card. Inilah kelebihan UTAMA Nook Color berbanding Kindle Fire. Slot SD Card membolehkan anda upgrade OS Nook Color kepada Android menggunakan kad Nook2Android. Kad ini juga boleh dipesan dari Mika USA.

Home screen (L) and Interactive chidren’s book (R)

I wish browsing experience could be better. Dengan software Nook Color, browsing internet adalah okay tapi pengalaman saya menggunakan iPad 2 menunjukkan browsing Nook Color boleh dipertingkatkan lagi. Terutamanya dengan rooting Nook Color anda dengan Android.

End of my short review. Sekarang ini memang banyak tablet di pasaran, Boleh membuat pilihan dengan pelbagai variasi dan saiz. Selamat mencuba. :)

Nasi Daging dengan air asam for lunch + dinner today. Thanks to salwahcm@myresipi.com for recipe!

I had to make some changes though, when I forgot to simmer the meat with necessary ingredients. Cooking + surfing at the same time, you know what happened :D

Then I made carrot soup for Mikael’s snack time.

Makan dengan pita bread… hmm, not bad ;)

I used fish curry dari Malaysia and it turned out a bit too spicy for the little young man.

Maybe I should’ve reduced it a bit ;)

Anyway, the recipe is here.

Resipi Air Asam

  • bawang merah dihiris nipis
  • tomato dihiris nipis
  • cili besar dan/atau cili padi dihiris
  • sedikit belacan
  • sedikit garam
  • sedikit gula
  • sedikit sos tomato
  1. Campurkan semua bahan dan gaul rata. Pastikan belacan tidak berketul lagi. Siap. :)

It’s weekend again. This time I managed to bake using my organic vanilla powder :D

I made some plum and apple tart in mini sizes.

Kecik2 macam ni, one can finish it easily ;)

Kena lah juga give some reward to the assistant. He was there helping since the very beginning :D

The cake turn out very crispy. You can easily substitute the filling with other fruits like apricot or cherry. Maybe stuff it with some mixture of meat or chicken too :)

I got the recipe from my friend, translated from Polish. Made it once before, see Here. Thanks Aga :)

Crispy Plum and Apple Tart

Cake:

  • 1 1/4 cup of flour
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 125g cold butter cut in small pieces
  • 4 tbsp of iced cold water

Filling (for one big tart):

  • 4 big apples (sliced)
  • 6 spoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cornflour/flour
  • some vanilla powder (or liquid)

*this time I used 6 small plums (made 3 mini tarts) and 1/2 apple (made 1 mini tart). Adjust the amount of sugar accordingly. I added a pinch of cinnamon powder too to the apple.

1 egg mixed (to spread on the edge before baking)

  1. Mix flour with sugar and salt, add butter and mix using your hand until butter turns into very small pieces. Add 4 spoons of cold water, mix till cake is attached to each other. Mix with your hands well but fast, form a ball and cool down in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 200 C. Mix everything for the filling. I prepared separately plums and apple.
  3. After the cake has cooled down, make it flat- circle of around 32cm in diameter. Put it in a baking tray.
  4. For mini tarts, divide dough to 8 pieces and roll each to flat circle of about 15 cm in diameter.
  5. Put the filling mixture in the middle and fold the edges of the cake inside. Spread a bit of the mixed egg on this edges and sprinkle with sugar. Bake 40-45 minutes (small size requires about 25min only).
  6. Serve hot or cold.
